New Fishing spots

We all like to fish in the comfort of what we all know,but what about the rest of the fish,there are so many other places to go source for our pleasured pass-time hobby or sport and who cares if you get skunked the first time,go back and try again,i mean come on how many times have you been skunked at your own stream or lake,give your favorite area time to recover and bounce back from getting disturbed everyday.
New fishing lakes or streams are always exciting and should always feel like christmas,a new place to hone and test your skills as a fisher dude or dudette,come on get out there and give it a go,you never know you might end up liking your new spot even better and less crowded.

Cheap Gear

Hey,so about getting into flyfishing,as i mentioned in another blog,it can be cheap to get started in this sport so the ads that surround this blog have some really great deals on all you need for flyfishing,I have been through most of the ads to ensure they are on the same level as me(lol),Orvis are running a special on the top 20 flies used in the U.S and very cheap i may add,Also Redtruck are running some awesome deals on Sage rods going from 30-50% off but if your just getting started there are set-ups out there for around $30 U.S,Granted the may not be the best quality or the best casting flex but hey your only getting started and if you want to spend more money go for it my friend get in and support your local and dont be afraid to ask your local fly shop dealer any questions,everyone in the industry is more than willing to help out but if your a lil shy ask me.So get out there and enjoy.

Green trout,Red trout,Gold trout,Brown trout

So i'm making it my personal mission this summer to see how many trout species i can target,the great thing about Oregon is that we have a very diverse catergory of these fish we so covert,cut-throat,bull trout,brook trout of course i could babble on,with friends like Taylor Garrets(Taylormade Outfitters.com) & Josh Wood this should be a task that can be accomplished but even the big boys get skunked now and again,of course photo's will have to be taken,beer to be drunk and jerky to be our staple diet.With tasks that require skill like fly fishing not all our target fish will be big ones but we will try to bring you something worth seeing.

Anytime

Well anytimes a good time to go fishing ,I was out on the Deschutes the other day and landed a 14" and 16" rainbow in full spawn colours,It was nice to get out and fish in the wind,rain and while it was snowing,it generally puts people off,but just goes to show you if there is water there is fish,by the way when conditions are crappy it turns out the river is not loaded up with every tom dick and harry slinging all sorts of contraptions into the water,so next time you have a doubt about the weather ....dont,throw a streamer on and give it a go.

Give us a break

So no call on the streamer debate,lets get into the basics of it all.I know people are out there wanting to make money as a fishing guide,we all know where we stand,but how are we to make money if we are not willing to show people how we can get them into the sport without them spending money on guides and equipment,as we all know its not cheap,but we can help and educate people,there is enough cheap gear out there for everyone,enough people willing to teach this great sport.With time comes knowledge,with knowledge comes experience then we can pass on what we know,its that easy,I love this sport and am willing to help,when i first started,i was'nt shown anything and that my friends sucked,fustration of knowing the people i use to fish with were out for number 1,not willing to help,anyways many years of hit and miss has made me into a beast of a fisherman,so to save a lot of time,fustration and tears,take the time to show a friend a thing or two,its only time your spending and spending well, when you see them catch there first fish its all worth it.
